Philip Cahill and Mary Cormack were married in the Parish of Loughmore/Castleiney on 30 April 1832. The following children were baptized in the same parish. James, 24th May 1836, Andrew, 26 Aug 1838, Philip, 27 Dec 1840, Mary, 6 Aug 1843, John, 18 Aug 1845 and Margaret, 16 Sept 1850 address for Margaret "The Islands" Loughmore.
Mary, (1843) was my great grandmother and married John Quinane/Kinane of Gurtnahalla, Upperchurch and raised her family there. John her brother was a RIC man and was stationed and lived in Waterford. James married and lived in Victoria, Australia and had a large family. Andrew did not marry and lived in New South Wales, Australia. No record of Philip or Margaret has been found to date. I recently found a William who also lived at New South Wales, and on his marriage certifiicate of 1863 his parents were listed as Philip Cahill and Mary McCormack. No baptism has been found for William in Loughmore/Casteiney as yet. William also had a large family.
I do not know the parents or siblings of Philip Cahill born c.1800 or of his wife Mary Cormack/McCormack although I believe the Cormacks lived at "The Islands", Loughmore for several generations.
