Good Day , I tried posting this before but I can’t seem to find it so I will try again.I am trying to find out information on my Great Great Grandfather Richard Dillon who according to his Obituary came to the Country of Newfoundland ( Now part of Canada since 1949 )in the mid to late 1840’s and born in Waterford City Ireland around 1825 - 1827 came here for Fishing like a good many other people from Ireland. He married a Mary Ryan ( Irish descent as well )from Argentia Newfoundland and settled in St Johns and had seven Children ( Two boys and Five girls ). Richard passed in St Johns in 1900 . I have found most of us offspring and grandchildren and Great and Great Grandchildren but to this date I know nothing about his family in Ireland.I have been trying to do a lot of research and searched many sites dealing with Ireland but always come up empty handed when it comes to his life back in Ireland .I am hoping someone here may know of his family back in Ireland hence my reason for posting.Any help I would be most thankful even if only a small piece to get me started in the right direction.Just one other thing that I have come across that been that all Dillons in Ireland came from Henry De Leon who came to Ireland in the 1100 ‘S not sure if this is right but I have come across it several times.
Best Regards
Gary Dillon
