An unusual name in Stranorlar, I wonder was this the correct spelling.
Richard Jainge was born during the Great Irish Famine in Stranorlar Workhouse on 04-May-1849. His mother's name was Mary Jane, and his father, Francis Jainge was a labourer. This family were members of the Church of Ireland.
What became of them we wonder?

This is the spelling as per the birth record (probably phonetic). Have you any suggestions as to alternative spellings?

No, unfortunately not, but I see a Daniel Jainge, Cooladawson, married to Margaret McCrory in 1884 so perhaps the spelling is correct. Some of that name on shipping records to America too.

That's interesting. So this family could be connected to the civil parish of Donaghmore...
