Robert, born c 1813, arrived with his 3-yr old son on board the ship Dalmarnock in New York 10 May 1836. He settled in New York City with his wife, Ellen, and they had four more children, Ellen, William, Denis and Hannah. Robert (Sr) was killed in 1855 after being thrown from a horse drawn cart. He is buried in Mount St. Peters Cemetery, New York but the grave is unmarked. A baptism record from St. Mary's Church, Cork, shows Robert Barry baptised in 1813.
