  • I am researching another member of this family for a friend- daughter Jane who married Patrick McIntire/McIntyre in 1825, and lived in the Richmond/Woodstock area.  Jane died at age 89 in 1891,  Do you have any more detailed information about the family's origin in Ireland?

    Thank you for posting this!

  • Hi Andy:

Irlenad is my sticking point. I do know that they were the first of this branch of Flemmings in Canada, coming to St. Andrews around I8l8 and later to Richmond, which was not surveyed until 1828.

Re: Jane, I have that Patrick McIntyre was born in Tobermore, do you agree with that? I also have 11 children for the couple. Thanks for reaching out, Marcia

  • Marcia,

The family has a reference to Patrick's being from Tobermore only in an old poem, so there is no proof or documentation to support it.   They were married in Fredericton, NB in 1825, and did have 11 children.  Thanks for your reply.  Andy
