Also appears in some civic records in Canada as surname McGahey; but deed to his Farm, in Doak Settlement, York County, New Brunswick, Canada, has his Signature in perfect penmanship as McCaughey.  Also appears this way on his last Will and Testiment.  All the Local Church Records (St. Dunstan's Church, Fredericton, NB) spell the family name as McGahy.

Robert Immigrated to Canada in approximately 1835 with his Irish Wife, Anne McNichol (abt1811-d1884) and their child Bridget McCaughey b.1833-d.1874.  My search did not find any links in Ireland until recently.  All we had before that was My Grandfather and his Children speaking of County Cork  - however, I realize may Irish Immegrants referred to the Port of Departure/Embarkment as where they were from.  So fare it appears that's the case here, because recently (writing this 27 May 2020, Ancestry provided a hint to this Person and it revealed the Baptism Record for Daughter Bridget (b1833) IN Saint Partick's Church, Dungiven Parish, Dungiven, County Derry, Northern Ireland.  Record indicates He and his Spouce (Anne McNicklePretty special - I (and family) finally know at least one place the Ancestors lived in Ireland. The Goal now is to identify other Family members in that area or other areas of Ireland/Northern Ireland.
