Samuel Calder moved to Belfast from where he served in the merchant navy. He married Elizabeth Jane Gillespie (dob 1818) and they raised a family in Belfast.
His youngest son, also called Samuel (dob 01 May 1853) ended up in Cape Town, South Africa. No idea why. He was he only one of many children to go there. He went on his own (date unknown) but gets married there on 16 Mar 1878. Picture is of him in approximately 1903.
