On 30 October 1864 Susan Mangin (according to ship's passage) or Mangan (according to Marriage Certificate), a domestic servant aged 21, married James Dawson, then aged 22 and a Maltster, at the house of Rev C. Fraser in Christchurch, New Zealand. Witnesses at the marriage were John Kerr, labourer and Mary Falloon McManus (or McMahon), spinster.

Susan had arrived at Lyttelton aboard the Metropolis on 16 June 1863 with her father Thomas, farm labourer aged 56 and his wife Mary aged 57. In one family record we have Susan, 20 in 1863, arriving with a George, 30 (also a farm labourer), and Ann, 29. On the other hand the ship's passage register has her arriving with another Susan, 25 at the time of embarking.

I am looking to breach the "brick wall" and go back in time in Ireland.
