Dear Jacqui,
I came across your message re - Thomas Beglan a few days ago. I do know a lady who is related to Thomas and will email her within the next few days for you.
My great Grandmother was married to a James Beglan from Co Westmeath. They got married in the late 1800’s. And it was while researching these two people which led me to this lady I know who is related to YOUR Thomas Beglan. However, James is not from this lady’s family. At least she doesn’t know of a James in her family. The BEGLAN surname is NOT that common, so they must or would have to be related somehow, perhaps cousins!! Thomas Beglan’s family came from Co Longford, but James Beglan’s family came from Co Westmeath. Both of these Counties border onto each other, so it is very likely that Thomas and James are distant Cousins.
This lady I know probably wouldn’t know of the website “ Ireland XO, reaching out,” therefore wouldn’t know of your request.
Cheerio for now Jacqui ,
Maire
