THOMAS C. O'MALLEY Thomas's tombstone (in Indiana) reads Tipperary so might have been born there about 1806-1809. He married Mary Noonan and there is a record of a son, Edmund, born January 14, 1847 in St. Camins records. Believe Edmund died young as he never made it to US. Three other sons were born possibly in the Mountshannon area since military records read both Clare and Galway. Patrick b. Jan? 1837, Michael b. Nov? 1839, Thomas b. 1848 or 49.
Thomas's brother we believe was Father Patrick O'Malley PP born in Limerick City in 1801 and died in 1879 in Ireland. He was sent to Mountshannon from Shinrone to build a catholic church there. PP from 1836-1846. He possibly was the nephew of John Young, Bishop of Limerick b. 1768 d, 1813. There is a reference to Thomas Melia in the St. Camin's church records for having received stone and Maze for work he had done. Was this because he helped his brother build St. Camins church? Was this what brought the family to Mountshannon? We believe Thomas immigrated to US thru Canada or US ending up in Indiana, possibly with a James Grimes, about 1849-1851. These gents bought land and families followed 1851-1852.
