Thomas Godwin

Thomas Godwin 1867

Back to List

Thomas Godwin (possibly previously known as Goodwin prior to landing in Australia) - parents George Godwin (Goodwin) and Mary Creeman  Believed to be born around 1867 in the country of Cork.  Emigrated to Australia - have not been able to locate passage.  He  resided in Victoria, Australia but a number of his family (not necessarily all carrying the surname Godwin) also emigrated to Australia and resided in different states - NSW and Western Australia.

Thomas Godwin worked for Victorian Railways and family story telling has said that he is reputed to have been the person who introduced Pitman Shorthand to Victoria.

Would really appreciate any help in locating where he was born and his family history prior to emigrating.
