Thomas was the son of Isabella Cavanagh and James Hanlon. He was baptized in Ballyhooly on 8 Jun 1817.  Not sure how old he was at his baptism.  He married Johanna Hallahan who also arrived in Ontario, Canada on one of the Peter Robinson ships in mid 1825.  The church records of the late 1830's were destroyed in a fire when the church burned in 1838, so there is no record of their marriage.  However they had four children, two living in Ontario all their lives, Mary (Hanlon) Harrington and James Hanlon, they died and are buried in St Luke's Cemetery at Downeyville, Ontario.  The other two children, Isabelle (Hanlon) Dwyer and Michael Hanlon moved to southwest Missouri, USA and are buried there in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lawrence County, Missouri.
