- His sister Honora Higgins and brother-in-law Patrick Renny (m. Brigid Noon) sponsored the baptism of his son Daniel Higgins (1817- ).
- Their neighbours Daniel Priest & Honor Regan were godparents to Thomas Higgins Jr (1827- ) and were likely extended family.
He was popular with his Knockroe neighbours/kin.
- In 1834 he was invited to godparent by Bernard Harrington & Margaret Lennon of #7a Knockroe.
- In 1835 Michael McGlynn & Mary Grimes invited him to godparent.

Thomas Sr. died sometime before 1865.
