 Tom Jordan was the youngest of eight children born to HUGH JORDAN (Jnr) and MORIA TALLON

in Coolboy near Tinahely Co. Wicklow.Tom was a great scholar and after school became an accomplished  step-dancer. He was also a keen gardener and footballer.In the early 40's he came to work as a gardener   in the priest house at Castlebridge, Co. Wexford.He later moved to the gardens of Castlebridge House to work for W.B. Nunn.

He worked by day and taught dancing by night.He also played  county football with Wexford.He married Stasia Murphy of Lr.Glassganny in 1944 and went to live in Glassganny.Their 3 children were born there, Mick, Peggy and Maura.

In 1951 the family moved to Cobbham Surrey, U.K but Maura stayed home with her maternal grandparents. Tom also worked in Cobbham as a gardener.Stasia died in June 1961.Tom retired to Carnew ,Wicklow in 1973.He lived until 1979.He died in Baltinglass Hospital on Sept 13th 1979, 14 days after the birth of his first grandchild Aileen Mary O' Leary.He is buried in Coolafancy Cemetery.His siblings were Hugh ,Patrick, Hugh,William Luke, Kate, Mollie and Margaret Jordan.Tom was the last of the family to die.
