Thomas McCormick was born on August 6, 1702, in Londonderry, Ireland. He married Elizabeth Carruth in 1726, and emigrated with her to America in 1734 or 1735. They had six children in 13 years. He died in 1762 in Cumberland County, Colonial Pennsylvania, at the age of 60, and was buried in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Elizabeth died in 1766, also in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
