Thomas Sheedy came to America in 1849 at the age of about 19.  He has papers from Buffalo,NY,  to a Judge in Indiana concerning his citizenship that say he was from Limerick and was 19 when he  arrived in Buffalo in 1849..  This document is dated Feb 2, 1852.  He married Ellen Moylan in Tippecanoe, Lafayette, Indiana. It is hard to see exact date on the marriage record but it was in Tippecanoe Feb.2 or 20, 1852.  I'm guessing the 2nd as the other paper was dated then. Their children were Catherine, b.1856 Lafayette-d.1943 Chicago, Frank Thomas b.1858 Lafayette-d.1925 Chicago, and another child,  perhaps Mary b 1859.  Family lore has it that he died in a mining accident in Indiana in 1859. Ellen went on to marry a Eugen Ahearn (O'Hearn) and had two daughters, Margaret 1863 and Ella 1865, both born in Indiana.

Thomas' son Frank was my great-grandfather.

I have found various records from all the Moylens in Philadelphia.

(Apparantly someone who had access to my tree decided to put every possible parent, siblings, wife, and child that remotely matched init. Big clean up needed! I just saw this.  Doesn't that irk you when someone you trust does this and it spreads with all of the disinformation?)
