Thomasina Phoenix according to the English censuses was born in 1837 in Dublin and married Henry Handford on 28 January 1856 St Bartholomew's Chapel, Rainhill, Prescot, Lancashire, England.
On her marriage certificate her father is given as Richard Phoenix, Labourer but we cannot trace any more details.
She is on the 1871 censuses onward in England but does not appear anywhere on the 1861 census.
Ancestry throws up a baptism at St Marys Pro Cathedral of a child on 25 September 1861 in the name of Henricus Hawford Residence 58 Stafford Court. The mother is Thomasina (Phoenix) who is married to Henry Handford which I presume is 'Hawford'. This could explain why they do not appear in the English census of 1861.
I cannot find any reference to a Henry Handford born in 1861.
