Captain "Billy" William Flack was born near Baillieborough, County Cavan 1st April 1810 and died aged 81 in Burnley, Lancashire, England in 1892. He enlisted in the 63rd Regiment of Foot as a Private soldier and served in Australia and India before transferring to the 5th Lancashire Militia where he was promoted to Captain. He retired after 21 years of service.
