Not sure how this message board works, but - I have searched for relatives who remain in Ireland, and are related to William Dwyer, baptised in Fermoy Parish on 30 Mar 1843, and his parents were William Dwyer and Mary Dwyer nee Flanagan, who were married on 12 Jun 1842 by Father T. Murphy, P.P. and witnessed by Mick Dwyer and Mary Cotter. Their oldest child, William, emigrated to America, arriving in New York on 5 Aug 1863, traveled to Lynn, MA and married Ellen Mullen in 1865 and had ten children, one of which was my grandfather, Henry J. Dwyer, b. 1882. William Dwyer, b. 1843 had four siblings, all baptised in Fermoy (based on records), Ellen Dwyer b. 1845; John Dwyer, b. 1848, Honora Dwyer, b. 1851 and Mary Dwyer, b. 1853. I am looking for documents for William Dwyer and Mary Flanagans birth and death, and descendents of his four named siblings, who we beieve, remained in Ireland.
A William Dwyer is listed in Aldwelll's postal directory of 1845 as operated a harness Making business on 27 George's St. In addition, in a 1824 commercial directory, a William Dwyer is listed as operating a Harness making business on Turket St. Both in Cork. Finally, Griffiths valuation list a William Dwyer lliving on 16 Chapel Square in Cork.
William Dwyer's death certificate verifies that William Dwyer and Mary Flanagan were his parents.
I have joined the Cork DNA project and have found one descendent living near Cortk today, who has a DNA match to me, but neither one of us can trace how we are related.
What help can people give me?
