William McShea born circa 1819, came to the port of Derry to await passage to America. Whilst there, he met Elizabeth (Lissie) Campbell and subsequently married her and had a family in Derry. He secured a job as a Gardener in the Bishop's Casino in Bishop Street in the city. This premises later became St. Columb's College for Catholic Boys and more recently has become Lumen Christi College for boys and girls. Both William and his wife Elizabeth died in Derry.
