William Peter Doyle was born in Wexford in 1805, died in Chicago, Illinois, USA, 12 Aug 1890; married Anne Cullen, born about 1816, died 16 Feb 1881 in Chicago. Their children were Catherine M., born 12 Feb 1840 in Wexford, died 26 Dec 1915 in Evanston IL (near Chicago); William Peter Jr., born 20 Mar 1844 in Wexford, died 4 Nov 1913 in North Judson, Indiana; John J., born in Oct 1848 in Ireland, died 23 Dec 1881 in South Evanston; and Hannah, born 1 Feb 1855 in Chicago, died 8 Jul 1934 in Evanston. William, Anne and the three older children left Ireland about 1854.
William Peter Doyle Jr. married Mary Ryan, born 28 Feb 1851 in Wexford, died 15 Mar 1921 in Evanston; came to US about 1866. Catherine M. Doyle married Michael Dwan, born 1 Nov 1829 in Tipperary, died 9 Apr 1927 (age 97!) in Evanston; arrived in US about 1848. John J. Doyle never married. Hannah Doyle married James Charles Connor, born 6 Apr 1846 in Taghmon, died 25 Nov 1890 in Evanston. Mr. Connor arrived in the US in 1854 with his parents, James Connor and Anastasia Colfour, and siblings. The Doyle and Dwan families have burial plots across from each other in Calvary Cemetery, Evanston. The Connor family also has a plot in the same cemetery.
William Peter Doyle had a probable older brother, Philip J. Doyle, who immigrated about 1852. Philip was born in Wexford (Ambrosetown?) in 1797, died 10 Apr 1880 in Evanston; wife Ann Keating, born in 1798 in Wexford (Bree?), died 5 Nov 1890 in Wilmette (near Evanston); children Mary, Ellen/Helen, Catherine Mary, William John and Andrew Francis.
A William Doyle appears in Griffiths Evaluation as both a lessor and an occupier, Parish of Taghmon, Uptonn, Ord S. 41. A Patrick Furlong appears on the same page. A Peter Furlong also appears on that page and later shows up in Evanston census and church records. Perhaps multiple families left about the same time. These would be some of the famine immigrants.
