I am looking for the origins of my great-grandfather, William Ryan, born in London in 1875, son of Michael Ryan and Mary O'Cooke, who emigrated from Limerick in an unknown date. He was baptized in the parish of St Martin-in-the-Fields in London, but unfortunately all records were burnt.His mother died at 55 when giving birth and he was raised by his sister Margaret. He had another brother called Henry and some others who emigrated to Canada. Aproximately at the age of 5 he was put into a hospice in London and he stayed there until he was chosen by the spanish family Villalonga from Bilbao to help his disabled son to learn English. He left London to go to Bilbao when he was 18 years old.
