I am searching for the family of my great-great-great-great grandfather, who stowed away on a ship to America when he was 9. His name was William Steele. His birthdate was July 4, 1819. I don’t know where to start. The census records say he & his parents were born in Ireland, but don’t say where in Ireland. A second cousin thinks he came from County Cork, but I don’t know on what she based this belief.
