William Taylor was born in Ballynick, Armagh about 1792. The family originally arrived in Armagh as part of the plantations, likely pre-1700. There is an exact Y-DNA match to the Taylor branch further east around Drumcree parish with a branch separation of around 1700. William married Mary Anne Burns around 1820 and they farmed at Ballynick with other related Taylor families. Their daughter Eliza was born at Ballynick around 1826, marrying John Murray at Grange parish in 1847 and migrating to New South Wales in 1850 and having 10 children eventually. Son George was born at Ballynick in 1839. He worked for the railways and moved around quite a bit. He married Sarah Jane Cochran in 1864 at St Gobhan's in Seagoe. They migrated to Glasgow, Scotland in the mid-1870s after the death of both his parents. William died in Grange parish on 24 Nov 1875.
