Migrated to/Born in USA
Came to the US about 1848 during the Irish Potato Famine. He lived much of his life in the US with his son Richard. He has no headstone but the St-Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ionia, MI has a record of his funeral as being 16 Jan 1867. He was living in Vermontville at the time of his death. His son, Richard's, death certificate lists a mother as Margaret Fitzpatrick. This may be the wife of William Tobin but needs to be researched further.
Children known are:
Richard Tobin 1821-1899. He is buried in Battle Creek, MI
Anastacia Tobin Mahar 1829-1909 buried in the same cemetery as William.
