  • CULLINANE(CULLINAN) FAMILY FROM MOTHEL AND NEWTOWN / KALMACTHOMAS AREA 1860'S TO 1900.

My family, the Cullinane's, lived in County Waterford.  My Grandmother, Mary Cullinane, was born in Newtown / Kalmacthomas, County Waterford in 1877. The family moved to, Bishoptown, Mothel in 1881+-.  The whole family immigrated to St Louis, MO USA in approx. 1895. I understand they had relatives from Waterford who already lived in St Louis, MO. Her dad was John Cullinane, b1847, and her mother, Elizabeth Moore b1846 and she was the Carrick-on-the-Suir area. When they left Mothel, for the USA there were several Cullinane families still living in the area. I assume they were all relatives.  I believe John's father was named James Cullinane (approx 1820} and he had like eleven children. James Cullinane may have been born in Cork County or Western Waterford.

Does anyone have any information on any Cullinane Families who lived in the Waterford area.  hughes.w@comcast.net
