Hello We have 2 family members that are buried in the old graveyard. Their names are Myles and Mary McGowan. We were wondering if we can get a photo of their marker or some information: date of birth and death. Also if any other members are buried with them can that information be provided as well. Any help or direction in getting this information is greatly appreciated. Thank you Aileen Stone

Hi Aileen, I went to Cloone cemetery today to look for the McGowan family and found them! I will attach photos of the headstone and all the names listed on it as there is an old one and a newer one. Teresa This is exciting news. Thank you so much for your assistance. I cannot wait to see the photos. We do have many family members from Cloone. I’m not sure if they are in the graveyard though. The other surnames are Creegan (Mary McGowan’s maiden name and Culreavy (Cormac and Nabby. She died in 1885). I know some Culreavy’s changed their names to Gray when there was much British anguish. Another fact, my husband’s great grandmother and some other siblings used Gray as a surname when they came to America although they were born as Culreavy. Again I can’t wait to see photos. I am trying to get as much information before making a trip to Ireland. All the best Aileen
