It was a branch line . . from Ballbrophy to Limerick . . . servicing Cloughjordan, Nenagh and Birdhill . . 

1858 . . another branch line was added . . from Roscrea to BIRR . . which ran for 105 years . . (see photo)

1868 saw the opening of a further addition to this line . . from Birr (aka.Parsonstown ) to PORTUMNA . . this line lasted 10 years.

Trains still service through this Station . . joining the mainline. .  Dublin to Limerick line at Ballybrophy . .
