Following on from the story of the three Donnelly brothers that arrived in Greaghnadarragh, Bailieborough, Cavan in the early 1800's and settled there raising through their descendants five branches of their families, the following is Part 1 of the life and times of some members of those families that emigrated to America.

PART 1. THE SHINNIES, PHILIPS AND WOODS BRANCHES TOGETHER WITH OTHER DONNELLYS.

The following is the brief intertwined American stories of the some of the three brothers descendants. It starts with Shinnie James P Donnelly, the son who erected their headstone in the Old Moybologue Cemetery in Tierworker. His siblings, Annie, Sarah, Kate and their half sister Philips/Shinnies Margaret Donnelly follow. Researching them led to the discovery of their brother Shinnie Bernard Donnelly and discovering that Elizabeth Donnelly of the Woods branch joined them. The Philips Annie and Owen Donnelly’s stories led to discovering their aunt Mary and uncle Stephen Donnelly.
