Hi all,
I have found the following entry on St Finbarr's, Cork marriage register:
1842, Apr 29 - Thomas Henry & Mary Ahern B.D.W Mary McCarthy & Mary Cook - Thomas Henry Mary ?.
The dash (-) I have used signifies columns.
I looked at earlier entires in this film and discovered that the W means Witnesses.
Does anyone know what the B.D. means?
Many thanks

Wendy:
I did a Google search and found an article which indicates that B. D. stands for By Dispensation. See this Genealogists Forum thread and access the link that provides more background. http://www.genealogistsforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=24728

Hi Roger,
I am so sorry I have not replied to your message earlier. I have had a lot of family issues to deal with over the past couple of years.
Thank you so much for your information, it is very much appreciated.
Kind Regards
Wendy
