Looking for any information about a Ann Corey who died September 23, 1897. She was believed to have lived in Aughrimderg, County Tyrone. Letters of administration were dated February 15, 1898. in Armagh. Her daughter, Sarah Ann Canavan, was listed as her daughter from Aughmullan, County Tyrone.. If someone knows how I could get a hold of the actual Will, it would be deeply appreciated. Any information on either person would be great!
Thank you!

Geoff,
Ann died intestate so there was no will. The probate file was destroyed in the 1922 fire in Dublin and all that exists now is the abstract (summary) you have found. Ann's husband William died at Aughrimderg on 24.4.1897 aged 66.. His son Luke was the informant. Sarah Ann Cory married Patrick Canavan on 11.7.1889 at Stewartstown chapel. She died sometime between Dece, ber 1897 and April 1901 as Patrick is a widower in the 1901 census. He was a farmer and a publican. However I can't see a death certificate for her. What other information would you like to know?

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I thought that this Ann Corey may have been the widow of a Cornelius Corey, my G-G-Grandfather. I have not found any information on them and I was hoping this may have been a good lead. I believe they lived in the West Ardstraw area of Tyrone County. Their names come from the death certificates of two of their children, Catherine (1820-1920) and Charles(1831-1908) who came to America and died in Philadelphia. My Greatgrandfather, Michael (no death certificate, died 1889) was also their son.......born around 1851. Michael married Letty Quinn in West Ardstraw around 1860 or so...

I forgot to mention that the Ann Corey I was looking for had the maiden name "Dougherty" Probably born in the very early 1800's.
Also, I was wondering where you found the information on William Corey. He could have possibly been a son of Cornelius and Ann Corey (Dougherty).

Geoff,
I found William's death on the irishgenealogy website. You can view deaths in Tyrone there from 1878 to 1921 (free). For deaths 1864 to 1877 you have to use the GRONI website which charges £2.50 (sterling) to view the certificates.
I searched for deaths for Cornelius 1864 - 1901 but did not find any, suggesting either that he had died before 1864 or left Ireland. I also searched for deaths for Ann for the same period. I only found one in Tyrone that would fit. She died 29.8.1877 aged 89, registered in Cookstown. (That's some distance from Ardstraw so possibly not your family).
I looked in Griffiths Valuation for Tyrone c 1860. No Cornelius Cory/Corey listed suggesting again that he wasn't living in Tyrone at that time. If Cornelius & Ann died pre 1864, then there will be no death certificates as they were only introduced that year. Catholic parishes rarely kept burial records so thatalso makes them hard to find.
If I have understood correctly, Cornelius & Ann had Catherine in 1820 and Michael in 1851. That's a span of 31 years. Most women weren't fertile that long in the 1800s. The average family spans 20 - 25 years max. In my opinion, either the ages aren't right or Cornelius had remarried. Very few Catholic parishes in Tyrone have baptism or marriage records for the late 1700s/early 1800s, so you may struggle to find a record of their births or marriage.

Elwyn,
Thank you very much for all the information and your time!
The date of Catherine's birth was from a death certificate filled out by her neighbor, it could be off by a bit....
