Any info please on Patrick McGrath b 1821 Tipperary

The subscription site Roots Ireland has the following records

Patrick McGrath married Elizabeth Reid February 10 1850 in Portlaw RC parish Co. Waterford

Michael McGrath baptized August 9 1853 in Portlaw father Patrick McGrath and mother Eliza Reid  No other siblings located.

I checked the Co. Kilkenny records and there were Elizabeth Reade ecords in 1825 1826 and 1830 but none in 1827.

Thank you so much Roger. I think you have hit the nail on the head. I had established that Michael was more than likely an only child but had hit a stone wall reference his mother's maiden name. You hve given me plenty of food for thought and look forward to pursuing the tree further. may I say how grateful I am for the service of yourself and the rest of the volunteers in ireland. Hope to travel to Tipperary 2022.

PS The first name Patrick has been handed down several generations and I was  known locally as "Young Pat".
