Hi my g.g.ggrandparents are William Simpson Sotheren and Margaret King.  They married 17 April 1843. in Australia.  I am sure they left Ireland on the John Renwick around 1841.

Williams father was William Sotheren amd mother Elizabeth Simpson 1816 - 1858.

  • Thank you for your prompt response.  I thought that the name was spelt as Southeren but on her death certificate it shows Sotheren.

Perhaps the family are linked to one of these.
