Hi my g.g.ggrandparents are William Simpson Sotheren and Margaret King. They married 17 April 1843. in Australia. I am sure they left Ireland on the John Renwick around 1841.
Williams father was William Sotheren amd mother Elizabeth Simpson 1816 - 1858.

Thank you for your prompt response. I thought that the name was spelt as Southeren but on her death certificate it shows Sotheren.
Perhaps the family are linked to one of these.
