My grandparents, Robert Percival ATKIN (abt 1865-1915) and Henrietta Mary WHITESIDE (1866-1928) married at St. Michael's Church of Ireland, Limerick on January 10, 1862. Her parents, Henry WHITESIDE (1832/33 - 1866) and Dulcibella TAYLOR (1841-1923) married at St. Mary's Cathedral, Church of Ireland, Limerick, on June 17, 1862. The previous generation, her parents Francis Augustus TAYLOR and Emily Ann ROSE were also married at St. Mary's Cathedral, Church of Ireland, Limerick on February 13, 1840.
Both the ATKIN and the WHITESIDE families were business people. My grandfatehr was a wach-maker and my grandmoter ran a music store in Diblim. Two children were born to my grand[arents in Limerick before they moved to Dublin where three more children were born including my father. Survivors moved to Canada in 1913 and to the United States in 1916.
I now live in suburban Chicago in the United States and would like to exchange information with any decendants or others who have any knowledge of these famlies with roots in Limerick.

Hi Gene,
Thank you for your message and for sharing this information on the Ireland Reaching Out message board. I hope that someone who is researching the family or who has information makes a connection with you.
Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to rollout across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organized.
Kind regards,
