Would love to connect with anyone who is researching this family in Ireland. Gregory and Martha Willis Bobier, and a number of his sisters, lived here during the 1798 Scullabogue Barn Burning and were Protestants. I guess that area was mainly Catholic as the Catholics burned the Protestants in the are in a barn standing toe to toe. Some of the in-law Dobbyns were burned there and is believed it included Bobiers. This is probably when they thought better about living there. My ancestor, John Bobier b. 1804 there, landed in NY with his family, and walked barefoot to Canada, carrying a sibling, where they set down roots in Ontario. Any help most appreciated.
