Searching for information on the name Brannigan. I know they were RC and fron Northern Ireland. My Great Great Grandfather Philip Brannigan was from possibly County Down born in 1799 (according to his grave marker in the USA ). Sadly I do not have much more to go on. He emigrated to the USA to Ashland Greene NY where he met my great great grandmother Sarah Dempsey born about 1820 in County Mayo. Her father was Rodger Dempsey born about 1797 in Mayo was married to Bridget McDonald born 10 mar 1795 in Mayo and they both emigrateed to Ashland Greene New York.
Any help on the Brannigan family would be maost helpful.
