Hi Lenore,
I noticed that Robert Gordon Brereton married in Tralee, county Kerry
Marriage of ROBERT G. BRERETON of TRALEE and ELIZABETH FITZGERALD of TRALEE on 23 November 1837
There is a lot already documented about this family as you are probably aware of already http://www.brereton.org/helen-favelle.htm
Will have a look if I can find the other children of William and Jane Brereton, question what is the reason that you believe Robert Gordon was born in Tralee Kerry ?

Hi Annemarie, thanks for your reply.
To answer your question, we have details that his father was killed near /or in Tralee as he worked there as the Mail coach agent and am attaching immigration doc for you.
The brereton website and resources there do not have any lines connecting with this line of Breretons, strange I know. Not even Faye Goodwins huge documentation of the Breretons in Ireland.
Helen Flavelle and I and a couple of others are in contact with each other a lot also.We have all hit the proverbial 'brick wall'., looking for our "jane"
the facts we are sure of are Robert Gordon Brereton married Elizabeth Fitzgerald as you find, I have the copy.
They emigrated to AUstralia in 1839. Immigration papers show his father as William,
Robert Gordons father we are certain is William (see attached) and mother is possibly Jane but this may have been a nickname rather than given name. Jane applied for pension after Williams tragic death in 1822 , he was murdered during the rebellions, while delivering the mail,he was the mail coach propietor / agent of. We have newspaper cuttings for this.
We cannot find Jane / widow Brereton and the remaining 3/5 children.
Robert Gordon to AUstralia (married fitzgerald)
William decd 1848 (married alicia Eager)
Margaret 1811, Eliza 1812, Georgina 1822 and we are just guessing at best.
Annemarie, thank you so much for your assistance,
haha I, have sent emails off to my fellow researchers and asked them if they are interested in a trip to Ireland?
I would love to visit,
thanks again, Lenore, & I will post on Ratass as you say.
:)
