 Hello!

I am looking forward information about my Brett and MacKerell relatives. My second great-grandmother Ellen Brett was born 20 Sept 1856 Ss Peter and Paul, Clonmel, counties of Tipperary,Waterford, Ireland. She married William Flanagan in Burnley Lancashire. England and died 31 July 1900 in New Bedford Masachusetts.
I have found the marriage certificate for her parents Edward Brett ( or Britt) and Ellen  MacKerell on 01 May 1848 at Ss Peter and Paul's . Roman Catholic with witnesses John Gillis and Brigid Dwyer.
They had the following children  Mary Anne Brett ( Healey) 1839-1906, Catherine Brett b 1851, Edward Brett b 1854, the above mentioned Ellen Brett 1856-1900, and William Brett b 1859.

I am looking for information on generations preceding Edward Brett and Ellen MacKerell . I am wondering if you have any suggestions or are the records just not available? Any help would be greatly appreciated ! Thank you!

The records for Sts. Peter and Pauls start in 1836 so you won't find any baptismal records for Edward Brett and Ellen MacKerell if they were baptized in that parish. The subscription site Roots Ireland does have an August 18 1816 baptismal record for an Edmund Brett in St. Marys Clonmel parents Thomas Brett and Margaret Condon. Your Edward did not name a son Thomas (after his father) so I'm not confident that this record belongs to your ancestor.
