Hi,
Thanks for your message.
It will be much easier to find information on the Broley family if you could narrow down the area where they came from. The main records for Ireland in the 19th century are church records, however to search these you need to know the parish that the family belonged to. Do you have any documentation that mentions a townland/parish/village or town?
Do you know much about his emigration? Generally, more information was given at the port of arrival rather than that of departure so it may be a place to find more information-and perhaps even an exact place of origin. For immigration information into Canada, check the Natioanl Library and Archives at the following address:

I did a search of the number of households in Ireland during the mid 19th century with the surname Broley but it yielded no results. However when I changed it to Broly there were 2 results...both in Derry. You can see the results here:

You can also try doing a search for Broley and its variations in the land records that were carried out in Ireland during the 19th century. However, without a parish name you won't get any definitive results. If you would like to try this do so at the following websites:

I hope this helps. Remember to post any new information that you come across. The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you. Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.
