Hi William,
Church of Ireland parish registers for the period up to 1870 are public records. Registers are available for about one third of the parishes, however many were destroyed in the Public Records Office in Dublin in 1922. Most are still held by the local clergy, although some are in the National Archives of Ireland and others are in the Representative Church Body Library in Dublin. A list of all surviving registers is available in the National Archives. http://ireland.anglican.org/about/42 and http://www.nationalarchives.ie/. For catholic parish registers you may try checking http://www.nli.ie/en/parish-register.aspx or http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/fuses/rcparishmaps/index.cfm?fuseaction=showidrecords&churchid=723&CityCounty=Offaly&CityCounty=Offaly&parish=Philipstown to see what records may be available and where they are held. You may also consider contacting the local parish offices for further assistance. http://www.tullamoreparish.ie/contact-us-mainmenu-99
I wish you the best of luck with your search.

WIlliam hi.
No idea is this may be realted as this is all I know, is my brick wall.
I have a great g mother, Catherine Bryan who, by 1872 lived in Narraghmore, Kildare. We know this as we have a marriage certif from 1872 19th May where she married my ggrand parent Thomas Dillon, Son of Daniel Dillon who lived in Tippeenan, Fontstown Kidlare by the time.
In such wedding certif it shows she would have lived in Glasshealy? Glassely? (many spellings) Narraghmore. Unfortunately, never able to see the pic of original records (so don't know who her parents were, or if she had any siblings, etc etc)
Btw, if any would have any more info on these it'd be fantastic. Also, don't know much else about Thomas, whether if he had any siblings as well. Daniel Dillon shows on Griffiths Val, as being a tenant for a Mr Doyle on Tippennan Upper, Fontostown around 1840 or 1850's. That's our other brick wall, as this fam as always been extremely reserved and somewhat individualists it seems, due to some crumbles of info we've gathered so far.
Thanks all ans best regards
Jes

Hi Jes, we might have some Bryan connections. My great-grandfather Patrick J Bryan was supposedly born to Patrick Brien and Bridget Birmingham from Narraghmore in 1855. I have births of his brothers and sisters from the same parents. I can also follow the mother Bridget and her children across the pond to Jersey City NJ in the US 1880 census. Patrick is listed there.
That said, I have no record of a Patrick Bryan being born to a Patrick Bryan/Brien and Bridget Bermingham (they are both named and listed on his death certificate. He died in 1910 in Greenpoint, Brookly, New York.
Is it possible your Catherine is related to my Patrick J Bryan or his father Patrick?
