Hello, looking for information on
Hugh Bryce born abt 1824 Ireland married Margaret McGroalty? born about 1826 from Donegal. (Her Parents were Patrick McGrory and Elizabeth McLaughlin from Donegal)
Hugh and Margaret moved to Greenock where they married and had at least 5 children Daniel Bryce born 1850 then Margaret, Hugh, John and Mary Jayne.
Daniel Bryce 1850 - 1886 married Margaret Beaton 1856-1936 they had Margaret 1879 - ? and Charles Allan 1885 - 1947. Thank you for any help

I presume your ancestors were RC. Very few RC parishes in Co. Donegal have records back before 1850. I did search the subscription site Roots Ireland but did not fund a Hugh Bryce marriage record. I looked at the 1857 Griffiths Valuation head of household listings for Co. Donegal to see where your ancestors may have come from. Most of the Brice/Bryce records were in southwestern Donegal in the following parishes: Killybegs Lower, Inishkeel, Inver and Killaghtee.

Thank you so much for looking into this Roger, really appreciate it - narrowing the area down is a great help at least. Hugh and Margaret were married in Greenock Scotland, I just wondered if there was any baptism, or marriage of their parents. But to have an area pinpointed is a great starting point. I shall put their story on the Chronicals site too :-)
