Dear All,
some of you have been kind enough to assist me in the past in my enquiries about 'Buckley's' in and around Millstreet. I can now say that this has proved a negative. Recent information seems to show that my father's Buckley family came from, generally, Clonakilty or thereabouts,
DNA cousins have a Margaret Buckley, dob, 1795, marrying Cornelius Madden dob 1791 of Darrara and a John Buckley dob 1790 had a daughter - Mary, who married Michael Fennell. Clonakilty area is suggested.
I have a third cousin who has Donovan's from Courtmacsherry on his mothers side, likewise a Hurley who's family appear to have originated in Clonakilty. My GG Great grandfather, Daniel Buckley, dob 1821 (not certain) came to London in about 1850. He had a daughter Catherine born in Ireland and a wife called Margaret.
It would be advantagious if I could persuade a 'Buckley'- family long standing from the area, to take a DNA test on 'Ancestry.com', I would be more than happy to pay for it.
I welcome anyone's help in assiting to trace my familiys' origins, thank you.
Regards
David Jenkin
