Hello!  A DNA test I took recently is showing that my Callahan ancestors were probably from Clonca Parish, but they lived before the parish records seem to have survivied, and immigrated about 1821 to Delaware, USA.

Patrick Callahan born about 1773 had children:

 -Michael Callahan b.3/15/1812

-Denis Callahan b.c.1805

-Jeremiah Callahan b.c.1822

-Patrick Callahan b.c.1917

-Darby Callahan b.c.1811

-Neil Callahan

Where should I look next?

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I searched the Tithe listings for Clonca parish and did not locate a Callahan/Callaghan record. I then searched the 1857 Griffiths Valuation head of household record for the parish and there were five Callaghan records. I note that one of the five was a Denis Callaghan and since he appears to be the oldest son possibly he inherited the farm and is the one listed in Ardmalin townland?
