My great grandmother, Margaret Canole was born on 14 Dec 1861 in Parkmore, Doorus, County Galway to Edward "Ned" Canole (1821-1901) and Cathleen Casey ( - 1901). She was baptized from Kinvara Roman Catholic parish on 16 Dec 1861 with Patt Canole and Biddy Cavanaugh as godparents. She went to USA in 1879 and married Patrick Leonard 16 Apr 1882 in New Castle, New Castle County, Delaware. She and her last son were scalded and died in February 1903. Ned and Cathleen had at least four other chidren: Michael (Abt. 1881 - ), Patrick (1864 - ), Sally (1866 - ), and James (1869 - ).
About 1896, argaret's brother, Michael Canole marries Bridget ??? and they have 9 children: Edward, Kate, Joseph, Delia, James, Margaret, Mary, Martin & John.
I have not done much research of Irish records yet but I would like to know the spouses of the 4 children of Ned and Cathleen, any children and when they passed away. I would also like to discover the parents of both Ned and Cathleen and whether they had siblings.
I am planning on visiting Ireland for the 4th time in the spring of 2023 but this trip will be extra special because I plan to visit the homelands of my 4 paternal great grandparent couples and maybe even meet some living relatives there.

Irish Mike,
The surname was spelt as Connole and Conole.
I am attaching some records which may give you an indication of the families of "Connole" parish record and Conole Griffith's Valuations.
A check for the marriage of Michael Connole/Conole in the Civil Record proved negative.
Church record for Parkmore does not give a date. Griffith's record are early 1850 and printed in 1855.
Form B1 give details of the homes. The names appear similar for both records - other than the spelling.

Mike,
Subscription site www.rootsireland.ie has a record of the birth of Catherine Connole in Parkmore on September 12th 1900 to Michael Connole and Bridget Quinn.
Baptised on September 15th.
There is a problem in relation to the records, as many are shown as "Connolly".
Check the 1911 census - www.nationalarchives.ie/census

Mike,
Attached a copy of the marriage of Michael Conole of Parkmore to Bridget Kilkelly of Duras on February 10th 1833 in Kinvara.
No record found for the marriage of Edward-Edmond Conole to Catherine Casey.
Tithe Records have an Edmund Casey in Ballylenane (Ballylennan) in 1820's in the parish of Kilmacduagh. Possible connection?
You will need to get your extended relatives in Ireland and the USA to put the relevant families in some order.

McCoy, Thanks so much for all of your research! It will take me a while to digest it all for sure. This was a family that took me years to even figure out what Margaret's last name was. I saw it spelled so many different ways in the existing USA records and so far I have not been able to find any close relatives who emigrated with her. Part of the problem was also that in the family bible she spelled her hometown as Dooris and I had a very hard time figuring out exactly where that was. In any case, I will cull your information and try to further my research.
Thanks again, Mike Maher
