Captain Thomas Rowe of the Mary married Kate Cornish, daughter of Nicholas Cornish of Rathulm, in Ballymore, Wexford in 1856. Thomas Rowe was the Weighmaster at Wexford harbour in 1893 when he died. I am trying to prove that this is the same Thomas Rowe. A Thomas Rowe also captained the Victory, Express and the Dodder from Wexford. Is this either or both of these two gentlemen? I have exhausted crew lists and other records of merchant seaman, UK National Archives, Ancestry, FindMypast and irishgenealogy. ie. etc. If anyone has suggestions or local or family knowldge I would appreciate it. A Thomas Rowe, master mariner,  was my great great grandfather.

Kind regards from Canberra, Australia (in lockdown!)

  • Hi Patricia,

Unfortunately the Wexford Historical Society does not accept genealogy enquiries. I will have to have a rethink.

    Thanks.
