Hi
I will be visiting Ireland (Dublin & Roscommon) in December 2021 and would like to contact the caretaker of the register for the Killina Graveyard. I have been told it is Mr. Eddie Brady of Tulsk but I have no idea if this is still true and if it is, how to reach him so I can possibly set up a meeting. Would anybody have any ideas?
I am interested in seeing the register in hopes that it might solve some details regarding my great-grandparent's grave plot.
Thank you,
Tricia Kelly

Attached Files
Hi Geraldine,
Thank you for such a quick reply!I have attached a file with a photo of my great-grandparent's gravestone. It was restored last year by a firm from Boyle (they also installed the stone in 1900). I was in previous contact (2018) with Eileen Burke of HistoricGravestones as she posted the initial info on their website.
My great-grandparents Thomas Kelly and his wife Elizabeth Beirne are buried in Killnagh More Graveyard, Killina, Roscommon. Their headstone reads as follows:
"IHS SACRED HEART OF JESUS
HAVE MERCY ON THE SOUL OF ELIZA KELLY WHO DIED 4TH JAN. 1900 AGED 54 YEARS, ALSO HER HUSBAND THOMAS KELLY WHO DIED 3RD DEC. 1915 AGED 72 YEARS. ERECTED BY HER LOVING HUSBAND THOMAS KELLY AND SONS R. 1. P."
Additionally, the Historic Gravestones website had these notes added to the webpage:
NOTES. To be remembered also:
"Thomas Kelly died 9/10/1954 Aged 73 Years, James Kelly died 26/11/1958 Aged 81 years (both are sons of Thomas & Elizabeth), James Kelly died 1/11/1933 Aged 89 Years, Kate Kelly formerly Kennedy died 6/4/1936 Aged 63 Years, John Kelly died 18/10/1960 Aged 73 Years"
http://historicgraves.com/killynagh-more/ro-kmon-0460/grave
The confusing section to me appears in the NOTES and concerns James, Kate Kennedy Kelly and their son, John. I am not sure if they are related to my Kelly family so it would seem odd that they would be interred with my family. The other two gentlemen mentioned in the NOTES are my Dad's uncles. When I questioned Ms. Burke she wasn't sure where she found this info originally as it was many years ago but said it was either from " local sources" or the graveyard register. She suggested that on my next visit, I review the registry which she stated was held by the caretaker, Eddie Brady of Tulsk.
So I was hoping that I might finally find an answer to this mystery during my visit and possibly discover that James, Kate, and John are of my Kelly family.
Thanks for all your efforts. My Dad and family really appreciate it.
