Hello,

I'm trying to find information on my Grandma's life in Ireland. My Grandma was called Mary O'Leary, maiden name Caroll. She was born 2.6.1930 at St Johns Causeway, County Kerry. Her mother and father are Patrick Caroll and Mary Caroll (previously Stundon) When she was alive she didn't want anyone looking into the family tree and she had no contact with her family. We think she had 4-6 siblings, whom she never spoke to whilst she lived in England even though a sibling lived in London. We are unsure why or if there was any records of why she left but it seemed to be not on good terms with her family. She came to England, lived in a house (?) for women only and then went onto marry my Granddad Thomas O'Leary in 1955 and had 5 children. She passed in 2020.

Could anyone advise me on how to get more information on her and her family? Or if you can find anything to help me build more of a picture? I feel so connected from my Irish heritage, sometimes more so than my English heritage. I am planning to visit where my Grandma lived in the future but I would love to find out information about her. I have considered a DNA test but really worried at how inaccurate they maybe.
