Carroll Family

My great,great grandparents were John Carroll & Judith Heenan who married in Lorrha on 19-1-1837. Judith was from Lackkeen. The 1851 Griffiths valuation reveals that John Carroll was a tenant at Kilcarren at the time of the valuation. John Carroll died at Lehinch in 1879. The informant was James Carroll. Judith who was registered as Julia on her death certificate died in 1884 at Lehinch. The informant was Edward Redden.

I am presently trying to find out what happened to the children of the above. The couple had 6 children:

William baptised 26-11-1837. Sponsors John Heenan & Ann Carroll. William apparently went to Australia. I am still trying to establish what happened to him here.

John baptised 10-3-1839. Sponsors John Heenan & Margaret Carroll. John is my great grandfather. He arrived in Australia on 3-3-1873, married and eventually died there.

Thomas baptised 1-4-1843. Sponsors Michael Carroll & Mary Navin.

Margaret baptised 26-4-1846. Sponsors William Carroll & Margaret Kennedy.

Patrick baptised 11-2-1849. Sponsors Hugh Fox and Mary Navin. Patrick landed at New York USA on 30-9-1899. He was shown as being single on the passenger records.

James baptised 29-6-1857. No record of sponsors. James was in Lehinch when his father died in 1879 but was not the informant when his mother died in 1884.

There is no record of Thomas, Margaret, Patrick or James being married or dying in Northern Tipperary. It is possible that when Patrick went to the USA he was joining Thomas, Margaret & James there.
