Hi Karen,

there is a Carrowbrowne, Headford Road, Galway (around Ballindooley Cross). It would be a placename as oppose to a parish. parish of Castlegar (and  think @ Oranmore parish in the 1800s)

Thanks for that info.  The griffith evaluation I think is our Walter.   How common is that name and I will find the children of Walter one day . They all came to NZ after he died and made a name for themselves in the Southisland of NZ. One had a hotel.

Karen, I cannot make out from your post whether you have or have not got Walters childrens names.

Corcoran is a common enough name, I doubt there were to many Walter Corcorans though. Think he was the only one showing up in Griffiths
