I was wondering anybody could help me figure out how I might obtain some photos based on the following:
From the notes of my grandmother Alice Casey based on information obtained in 1978.
In the old church yard (Church of the Immaculate Conception) in Drangan, there is a headstone with the following inscription:
“Erected by John Casey in memory of his father William Casey of Rathkenny who died Dec 23rd, 1836 aged 70 yrs., also his wife Catherine Casey (alias Neil) who died Nov 7th, 1835 aged 66 yrs.”
All the Caseys who died prior to 1905 are buried in the old church yard around this stone. Members of the family buried after 1905 are in a plot in the new church yard which is just across the road from the old church yard. The new church yard in Drangan was built in 1898.

I have sent a request to our Co.Tippeary volunteers to see if someone could get an image of the headstone.

Hi there,
I went to the old graveyard in Drangan and i think a lot of the gravestones have deteriorated since 1978. I only found one that had the Casey name on it - that I could read. I've taken a few photos but as you will see a lot of the stones are now illegible.
At least you have the inscription recorded.
Best wishes,
